Hello,

Formal nights are different on the different cruise lines.
As a minimum the dress code includes suit and a shirt for the gents and a night gown for the ladies.

However, certain cruise lines /the more upscale ones/ can require tuxedos for such events.

In all cases you should check the dresscode directly on the cruise line website or through your travel agents.

it is also to be noted that in most cases rentals on board are also available but that has to be double-checked as well.

Hello Admin,

Thank you very much for the great help. Please advise what is the usual policy for kids regarding the formal nights? We have a 11 y.o young lady and 13 y.o. gentleman Smile

Thanks in advance!

You're welcome.

As far as the kids are concerned - it all depends on the cruise line.
However, most of them tend to be a little less restrictive on the kids but, of course, this would mean no shorts, jeans, slippers, etc... A nice dress for a girl or a neat pair of trousers and a shirt should do for the boy.
Best check with your ravel agent or the cruiseline prior to boarding. If you have an issue locating their contact details , message us with the Cruise Line name or visit our website www.cruisediscuss.com which has a link to the line's official websites.
