Hello all,

A hypothetical question - if you are taking a cruise and your flight is cancelled what happens with the cruise if you miss the ship?

Hello BananaJoe,

That is a very good question. We are planning soon to post an article in our Cruise News section on www.cruisediscuss.com.
The issue is actually really complicated. The standard cruise contract - the ticket - limits the liabilities of the cruise lines quite a lot.
Certain cruise lines offer airfare packages with flight protection inside meaning that if you miss your ship they will fly you to the next port of call to get it from there.
Even if you have insurance on the air ticket the claim can be rejected.
If you need more information, please post a contact request from our website and we will get back to you asking for more details - which cruise line, the exact event and etc.
We prefer not to discuss details of your case in the forum as each case varies and it can get quite tricky.
Let us know if we can help more.
